Lead Pastors

Encounter Church celebrates being a multicultural, multi-generational body with a distinct worship style, and thriving youth and children’s programs. Encounter Church functions both as a local church and well as a globally-minded, fully-engaged ministry center, supporting more than 50 missionaries, including Marilyn Hickey Ministries and Sarah’s organization, Saving Moses.
Pastor Reece earned his Masters of Divinity from Oral Roberts University, while Pastor Sarah has her BA in German from ORU and her MA in Modern History from the University of Missouri. Together they are an energetic, anointed ministry team with a passion for God’s Word and His people.

Executive Pastor

Born in Kuwait of Pakistani parents, Pastor Eliphaz Salik is a 3rd generation Pastor. His father, ministered for over 40 years in Pakistan, Kuwait, and Colorado.
Growing up as Christian in a Muslim country, Eliphaz learned what it means to follow Jesus in the midst of adversity. Since 1999, Pastor Eliphaz was a part of the Orchard Road Christian Center family and recently joined the staff at Encounter Church in May 2018. After the passing of his father in April 2016, he was installed at the lead pastor of the Pakistani Congregation in Denver, International Christian Church. He has a great heart for helping people know the love of Jesus and teaching them to live by the power of the Holy Spirit.


Associate Pastor

Pastor Pat’s association with Encounter Church began right after his salvation in 1976. Soon after his conversion, Pat married his beloved bride, Sharon. Before long, they answered God’s call and together launched out into active ministry.
They’ve dedicated the last 30+ years to many areas of pastoral ministry, including, teaching and training, youth ministry, singles ministry, inner-city evangelism, short-term missions, and church planting. Currently, Pat is the Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries. He and his wife Sharon have two wonderful married daughters and sons-in-law.


Associate Pastor

Pastor Aaron Malone has been on staff at Encounter Church since 2006. He previously served as the High School Pastor until 2015 when he moved into the Adult Ministries role and started serving those in their 20s and 30s.
Aaron met his wife Ashley in 2010 here at Encounter Church and were married in the Fall of 2011. They both have such a desire to see young people come to know God in a greater way. As the Young Adult Pastor, Aaron is dedicated to see Jesus Christ transform lives in every believer.


Worship Arts Pastor

Judah joined the staff at Encounter Church in 2016. Raised in a dynamic church, he has a long history in the area of music and leading worship. Both he and his wife, Evie, have a desire to see people enter into the presence of God with all their hearts.


Missions Pastor

Born and raised in Canada in a Christian home, Frieda knew that she was called to missions at an early age. Upon graduating from Briercrest Bible College, Frieda spent five years with Gospel Missionary Union in Panama.

She taught in a Bible School and was in charge of local evangelism. After meeting and wedding her husband Jerry, Frieda attended Portland State University to complete a BA in education; later, she received her Masters of Divinity from Denver Seminary. She spent a number of years teaching in Christian schools; then taught in and directed Word to the World College. She has been on staff at Encounter Church as Missions Pastor for over 30 years. She is committed to her call of discipling and training students to cover the earth with the Word. Frieda and Jerry have three daughters and four grandchildren.


Childrens Pastor

Pastor Kate recently joined Encounter Church as our Childrens Pastor for ages birth to 5th grade. She and her husband, Dustin, and two children (Liam & Olive) have returned from England where they worked to impact churches and local communities through training artists in prophetic ministry.

Since children are eager to express their creativity through music and the arts, as well as play, Pastor Kate will be a blessing to teach the children to learn and experience the love of God to develop a healthy relationship with their Lord and Savior.
